PIROGRABADOS
(BRANDED WITH HOT IRON WORK)

Deep in the Southern part of Mexico, where the thick jungles are, lies the State of Chiapas, a religious city that was governed by Pakal, King of Palenque..

This state is beautifully surrounded by mountains and rain forest. Chiapas is a place where time has stopped and progress hasn't touch a bit its beautiful Natural environment.

In those thick jungles lies Palenque, which is, Till this day, an archeological zone. Palenque was existent at the time of the Mayans.

He is now buried in the Temple of the Inscriptions, which is the biggest pyramid found there. His mother is buried in the pyramid next to his.

The Art that you are about to see here is done by branding hot iron on leather and then painting on them by hand.

The paintings on this leather represent images of Pakal; Her Mother; the Queen and  his son Chambalun in different events that were real at the time. These paintings are presented in frescos in the different pyramids that you can see in Palenque.

Each of the Branded leathers have inscribed on the back side, the Name of the painting and the signature or name of the author.

All these designs are replicas of frescos found in the different pyramids of Palenque in Chiapas.

Enjoy  ! ! ! !
